MORRISON, Ill. — Jennie VanDyke, age 101, of Morrison, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., April 6, 2009, at the Morrison Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Officiating is the Rev. Philip Stel, Pastor at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2009, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. Memorials are established at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison.VanDyke was born September 15, 1907 in Ustick Township (Fulton), IL. Dick and Alice (Bielema) VanderVinne were her parents. She was educated at rural Whiteside County grade schools. She married Louis R. Van Dyke on February 21, 1933 in Fulton, IL. He died October 24, 1989.She was employed along with her husband as custodian at Union Grove School for several years. Jennie was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL and also a member of the Church's Lydian Society. One of her greatest enjoyments was baking cookies for family and friends. Survivors include; two daughters, Betty McDonnell, Morrison, IL, and Janet (Angelo) Stroffolino, Fairbanks, AK; four grandchildren, Mitzi (David) Read, Joel (Kathy) McDonnell, Robert (Kelly) McDonnell, Daniel (Anne) McDonnell; seven great grandchildren, Lyndsey, Matthew and Mark McDonnell; Jordan and Shelby McDonnell; Ella and Eli McDonnell; and one great-great granddaughter, Kaelyn McDonnell.She was predeceased by her husband Louis, one granddaughter Dawn Propheter, four sisters, Lucy VanderVinne, Effie Wiersema, Dina Engelkens and Helen Green, and four brothers Martin, Peter, Dave and Bennie VanderVinne.To send online condolences go to www.bosmarenkes.com.Death date: April 1, 2009
