CHARLOTTE — Fay Sentman, 85, Charlotte, Iowa, died on Friday, April 10, 2009, at Genesis Medical Center in DeWitt. Nelson Funeral Home is caring for Fay and her family.Fay's wish of many years was that her body be donated to medical science. Her family honored those wishes.A memorial Mass will be on Thursday, April 16th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Assumption Catholic Church in Charlotte, Iowa, with Father Scott Lemaster as celebrant. Memorials may go to the church.Fay was born on October 28th, 1923, the daughter of Edwin and Clara (Hansen) Finch. She married Howard (Mike) Sentman on December 14, 1940, in Charlotte, Iowa. He died in April of 1991.They owned and operated Jo's Tap in Charlotte for 13 years with Fay doing the cooking throughout those years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in DeWitt, Iowa, and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Charlotte, Iowa. Those survivors left behind to celebrate her life are her daughter, Judy (Harry) Scharff, Charlotte, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Oaks, Clinton, Iowa, and Mary Meyers, Camanche, Iowa.Preceding Fay in death were her parents; her husband, Mike; 2 sons, Mike and Tom; a daughter, Patricia Ann; and five brothers.Online condolences may be sent to www.nelsoncfuneralhome.com.Death date: April 10, 2009
