CEDAR RAPIDS — Andrew Frederick Peters Jr., 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday March 29, 2009, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy following a long illness. Services will be 11:00 a.m. today at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Joe Kane. Visitation was Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. and after 10 a.m at the chapel today. Survivors include his son, Andrew (Angela) Peters of Anamosa; a daughter, Jennifer Geiger of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Sue (Fred) Halcomb of Clinton; his grandchildren, Christina, Andrew, Nicholas; and a great-grandchild, Sydney.He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.Andrew was born September 5, 1944, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Andrew Sr. and Gladys Peters. He attended the Iowa School of the Blind in Vinton and furthered his career by attending the University of Iowa receiving a Masters of Arts degree on August 20, 1991.
