GURNEE, Ill. — John Robert Pladna, 86, passed away April 15, 2009, at the VA Medical Center in North Chicago. He was born August 5, 1922, in Clinton, Iowa. John resided in the Waukegan and Zion area since 1977. He is survived by his brother, Thomas (Phylis) Pladna; niece, Joanne (Larry) Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews including Mark (Lois) Hyde and Kathy (Bryan) Farmer. John was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Price; brothers, Leon and Joel Pladna; parents Edward and Grace Pladna; and grandmother, Sarah Snively. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 18, 2009, from 2 to 4 p.m. with a funeral service following at 4 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL. Burial will take place on Monday, April 20, 2009, at 1 p.m. at St. Irenaeus Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa. The Pape funeral home is assisting the family with local arrangements in Clinton.Death date: April 15, 2009
