MORRISON, Ill. — Dora J. Pessman, 90, of Morrison, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. David Weemhoff, pastor of Morrison Christian Reformed Church in Morrison, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison.Memorials may be made to Bible League and Unity Christian Schools, Fulton, IL. She was born May 26, 1918, in Morrison to Harry and Annie (Jensen) Newendyke. She attended rural Whiteside County schools. She married Homer J. Pessman on December 31, 1940, in Lyndon, IL. He survives.Dora was a homemaker and she farmed with her husband in the rural Morrison area. She was a member of Morrison Christian Reformed Church, Morrison, where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She was a member of the Resthave Nursing Home's Auxiliary. Dora enjoyed keeping in touch with everyone through cards and letters. Survivors include her husband, Homer; one daughter, Joanne (Warren) Musser of Morrison; one son, Arlyn (Jane) Pessman of Morrison; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
