DEWITT — Agnes T. (Mrs. John T.) O'Neill, 93, died late Monday evening, April 20, 2009, at West Wing Place, DeWitt, Iowa. She was born on June 25, 1915, to Eugene and Mary (McGuire) Lawlor in Victor, Iowa. She graduated from Davenport High School. On August 30, 1947, Agnes was united in marriage to John T. O' Neill in Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport, Iowa.Agnes was a member of Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound, Iowa, and was active in their Altar and Rosary Society and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, DeWitt. She spent many years farming with her husband. She was self employed as an Avon representative for 12 years and also employed as a C.N.A. for Wheatland Manor, Wheatland, Iowa. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and friends, playing cards and time spent with her family. Surviving are her children and their spouses, John O'Neill and his wife, Pat, Pickney, Michigan, Peggy Naughton and her husband, Pat, DeWitt, Iowa; grandchildren, Amy Naughton, DeWitt, Iowa, and Mark Naughton and his wife, Dani, DeWitt, Iowa; a great-grandson, Lucas Naughton; and a sister, Ann Ehercke, Davenport, Iowa.In addition to her husband, John, Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters.The family will greet friends and relatives at Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt, Iowa, from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2009, with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. and a vigil service at 7 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound, Iowa, with the Rev. David Brownfield presiding. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound, Iowa.Pallbearers will be Darrel Showens, John Kedley, Jim Fitzpatrick and Vince Ehercke.
