FULTON, Ill. — Kay F. Munson age 66 of Fulton, IL died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday April 20, 2009, at First United Methodist Church. A gathering of friends and family will be held Monday 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Kay was born on Feb. 18, 1943 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of George and Petrea (Remrey) Fromang. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1961 and received her Cosmetologist license from the Clinton Academy of Hair Design in 1962. She married Gary Munson on Nov. 9, 1962 in Dubuque, IA. She was co-owner and operator of Wheel-Inn Marina in Sabula from 1979-1983, worked at ALCO Dispensing Systems in Savanna, IL from 1983-1989. She also worked for the Purina Employees Credit Union as treasurer for over 10 years, Better Family Furniture, and Medical Associates in the business office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Clinton Chapter #65 Order of Eastern Star, Grand Cross of Colors of Iowa, and the 25 Year Club. She was past Worthy Advisor of Clinton Rainbow Girls. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Kay is survived by her husband, Gary Munson, Sr. of Fulton; a son, Gary (Danielle) Munson, Jr. of Fulton, IL; a daughter, Kaylyn "Lyn" (Jeff) Dickinson of Clinton; five grandchildren, Alexis, Erin, Mackenna, Annelise, and Matthew; and a sister, Vici (Leo) Johnson of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, and a son, David in 1988. Death date: April 15, 2009
