CAMANCHE — Eldon E. Johnson, 74, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. A Graveside Service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 at the Miles Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome to attend the Graveside Service. Lemke Funeral Homes of Clinton assisted the family with arrangements. Per Mr. Johnson's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.Eldon Ernest Johnson was born December 27, 1934 in Jackson County to Ernest and Viola (Becker) Johnson. He married Ella Holt on April 28, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton, Iowa. Eldon worked as a Truck Driver, was a member of the Teamsters Union and was a Volunteer Fire Fighter in Miles, IA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, carpentry work and making jewelry.Surviving him include his wife, Ella, of Clinton, IA; daughter, Gail (Gary) Cassaday of Clinton; a son, Rick (Deb) Johnson of Camanche, IA; five Grandchildren; one Great Grandson; one sister, Violet (Bill) Woodhurst of Erie, IL and two brothers, Keith (Marie) Johnson of Erie, IL and Marv (Nancy) Johnson of Miles, IA.Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Milton, Elmer and Kenny Johnson and Stepfather, John "Shorty" Nagel.Memorials are being established.
