CLINTON — Dolores F. Johnston, 84, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009, at Mercy Living Center South, Clinton. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. at the Lemke Funeral Homes South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Dr. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Durwood Norem, Tyler Johnston, Steve Johnston, Kyle Johnston, Ryan Eagle, and Danielle Eagle. Dolores Frances Johnston was born July 18, 1924, in Clinton, to Ernest and Eva (Patry) Collins. She graduated from Clinton High school. Dolores married Gerald Johnston on July 10, 1946 in Clinton IA; she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Dolores worked at International Paper, she enjoyed knitting and cross-stitch. Dolores also enjoyed playing cards and dice with her husband and their friends. She will be dearly missed by her husband and her family. She is survived by her loving husband Gerald, of Clinton IA; two daughters, Barbara Melvin and the late John Melvin of Clinton, IA; JerrieAnn Johnston of Clinton, IA; three sons, Michael Johnston of Columbia, TN; Allen (Veronica) Johnston of Erie, IL; Roger (Nancy) Belvidere, IL; seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; one sister Genevieve Sager of Clinton, IA; one niece Sharon (Wayne) Johnson of Clinton, IA. Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, one brother Leonard, one Aunt, Aunt Mary, and two grandchildren. Memorials can be made to the family.
