FULTON, Ill. — Lorna M. Huizenga, 79, of Fulton, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, IA.Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Second Reformed Church, Fulton. The Rev. Scott Stephan, Pastor at Second Reformed Church, Fulton, will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Fulton Chapel, Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton. Memorials have been established by the family.Lorna was born August 20, 1929, in Fulton, IL. Her parents were Ralph and Johanna "Josie" (Ottens) Borgman. She was educated in the Fulton Grade Schools and was a 1947 graduate of Fulton High School, Fulton, IL.She married Paul J. Huizenga on December 22, 1949 in Fulton, IL. He survives. She was employed by Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, in various capacities, the most recent being Activities Director. She also owned and operated along with her husband the Gambles Hardware and Gift Shop, Fulton, IL.She was a member of the Second Reformed Church, Fulton, IL. Lorna was active throughout the years in most of the church's societies and ministries. She enjoyed teaching Bible School while on the mission trips to South Dakota Indian reservation. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was a volunteer for Mercy Medical Center, Clinton, IA. Lorna enjoyed playing cards with friends and the winter trips to Arizona. Survivors include her husband, Paul; one daughter, Jolene Farley, Clinton, IA; one son, Ronald (Martha) Huizenga, Clinton, IA; five grandchildren, Chad Soenksen, Jason Soenksen, Tyler Farley, Becky Huizenga and Bobbi Melvin; seven great grandchildren, Havyn Soenksen, Jason Soenksen Jr., Ashley Dean, Matthew Dean, Kimberley Leeper, Lexis Huizenga and Christine Wagner; two great-great grandchildren, Kalista Emmert and Luxi Dean; special family friend, Ron Temple, Fulton, IL. Lorna was predeceased by her parents, one great-great grandchild, Allahnah Emmert; two brothers, Maurice "Bud" and Alvin Borgman.To send online condolences go to www.bosmarenkes.com.Death date: April 1, 2009
