Ruth Conners 05/23/2001 LOST NATION, Iowa -- Services for Ruth M. Conners, of rural Lost Nation, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lost Nation. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Toronto. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with a vigil at 7 p.m. Mrs. Conners died May 19, 2001, at her home, after a brief illness. She taught school and worked with handicapped students in early years. Ruth Carraher was born Oct. 14, 1905, in Lost Nation. She married Gerald Conners in 1929 in Lost Nation. He died in 1973. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include a sister, Eileen Naughton, Iowa City.
