John Callahan 03/31/2001 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for John W. Callahan, Clinton, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Cemetery, Clinton, with military rites conducted by the Clinton AMVETS. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Lemke Funeral Home, Clinton, with a vigil service at 6 p.m. Mr. Callahan died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. He retired in 1995 after 36 years as an insurance agent with State Farm. He was born March 22, 1931, in Masonville. He married Dolores Doyle in 1954 in Independence. Mr. Callahan served in the Army with the 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Survivors include his wife, Dolores; daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Heck, Omaha, Neb., Mary Carlson, Minnetonka, Minn., Noreen Johnson, Clinton, Denise Callahan, Freemont, Calif., and Andrea Cox, Phoenix; sons, Terrence, Clinton, and Philip, St. Louis; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Anne Kehrli, Ryan, Iowa; and a brother, Chuck, DeWitt.
