Melvin Drews 03/28/2001 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Melvin H. Drews, Clinton, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, where the Clinton AMVETS will conduct military honors. Visitation is 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Drews died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at the Alverno Health Care Facility. He worked for the A&P Grocery Store and the Clinton Alcohol Plant. He also was a chemical engineer for E.I. DuPont for 33 years, retiring in 1980. Melvin Drews was born April 8, 1915, in Clinton. He married Marian Healless in 1941 in Fort Wayne, Ind. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving from 1942-1945. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association; Grace Lutheran Camp, DeWitt; or the Lutheran Hour. Survivors include his wife, Marian; daughters, Nancy Petersen, Clinton, Judy Drews, Birmingham, Ala., and Barbara Drews, Cedar Falls; sons, Joel, Libertyville, Ill., and Dennis, Elk River, Minn.; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and his sisters, Lois Meyermann and Mildred Haack, both of Clinton.
