Gary Bennis 02/13/2001 MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Services for Gary F. Bennis, Maquoketa, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Delmar, with military services by O'Connor-Regenwether Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3633, Timber City American Legion Post 75 and Andrew AMVETS Post 62. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Haylock-O'Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with a vigil at 7 p.m. Mr. Bennis died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa, after a brief illness. He was a loan officer for 30 years Maquoketa State Bank. He retired in 1997. He was born Jan. 29, 1944, in Maquoketa. He married Mary Schneden in 1966 in Delmar. He had served in the Navy. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughters, Kris Hill, Davenport, and Jeralyn "Jo" Bennis and Sara Johnson, both of Maquoketa; a sister, Carol Novak, Stoughton, Wis.; and brothers, Richard, Delmar, and his twin, Jerry, Clinton.
