Mary Shanks 11/18/1999 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Mary D. Shanks, of the Alverno Health Care Facility, formerly of 523 7th Ave. S., Clinton, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Monday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Homes and Crematory, Clinton, with a vigil at 5 p.m. and a PEO service at 6 p.m. Mrs. Shanks died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton. She retired in 1982 as a secretary after more than 30 years at DuPont. Mary Davies was born Sept. 26, 1920, in Clinton. She married Morris Shanks in 1948 in Clinton. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Lyerly, Lincolnshire, Ill.; two grandsons; and sisters, Joann Davies, Denver, and Eleanor Fowler, South Hadley, Mass.
