Lorena Steines 10/30/1999 CALAMUS, Iowa -- Services for Lorena M. Steines, of Calamus, will be 11 a.m. Monday at SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Grand Mound. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound. Visitation is 2-7 p.m. Sunday at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, with a scripture service at 7 p.m. Mrs. Steines died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at Wheatland Manor. She had farmed with her husband. Lorena Schmidt was born Dec. 1, 1901, in Spragueville. She married William Steines in 1919 in Springbrook. He died in 1946. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Survivors include daughters, Thelma Elsner, DeWitt, Doris Ihrig, Maquoketa, Junice Nelson, Atlanta, and Alice DeVoss, Calamus; sons, Ralph, Calamus, Loren, Alpha, Ill., and William, Dixon; 41 grandchildren; 98 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta Feller, Preston.
