William Sagers Jr. 09/18/1999 MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- Services for William S. "Bill" Sagers Jr., of Maquoketa, will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at United Church of Christ, Maquoketa. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, rural Maquoketa. Visitation is 3-7 p.m. today at Carson & Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa. Mr. Sagers died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa. He owned and operated Bill Sagers Tiling and Backhoe business from 1966 until retiring in 1990. He also worked for Clinton County Secondary Roads Department from 1965 to 1972 and farmed in early years. He was born Oct. 26, 1939, in Maquoketa. He married Madonna Edwards in 1962 in Zwingle. He had served in the Army during peacetime. Memorials may be made to William S. "Bill" Sagers Jr. Memorial Fund. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shelia Caven, Bonne Terre, Mo.; sons, Scott, Delmar, and Mike, Maquoketa; five grandchildren; his father, William Sagers, Maquoketa; and a sister, Nanci Clark, Maquoketa.
