Pieper, Donald F.BROOKFIELD, Wis. — Born to Eternal Life on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at the age of 69 years. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Lynn Petro; daughters, Carey Pieper and Stephany Counterman; grandchildren, Amanda (Russell) Taylor, Amber and Alyssa; and great-grandchild, Madalyn Faith Counterman. He is further survived by his sister, Judy (Larry) Dodds; and nieces, Tami (Craig), Sara (Brian); nephew, Jason; and great-nieces and nephews Paden, Collin, Savannah, Logan, Kaila and Connor. He was a special cousin to Betty (Bud) Everman, Lin Rae (Smokey) Nevitt, David and Dennis Hoialmen; and special family friend to Steve Bubulka. Don was a life long family friend to Harold (Janice) Cady and their children, Jim (Marcia), Sue (Paul), Sandy (Chad) and Sara (Brad) and their children: Kate, Jacob, Emily, Mackenzie, Nathan, Tristen, Gwendolyn, Cody and Connor. Don was born to the late Donald Franz and Caroline Sarah (Hisey) Pieper on September 6, 1939, in Clinton, Iowa. He received his high school diploma from Clinton High School in 1957. Don went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1964 and served on the USS Tanner. He went on to earn a Bachelors Degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering and a Masters Degree in Manufacturing Management from Kettering University. He worked for General Motors, General Electric and the University of Wisconsin. He had a love of God, family and country. Don was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church located in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He spent his free time piloting his 1947 Bonanza, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors with his wife and best friend.A special thank you to Oncology Alliance and Waukesha Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care.Visitation was Sunday, November 2, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, W240 N3103 Pewaukee Rd, Pewaukee, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:30 p.m. Military honors followed.
