CLINTON — Roland E. “Ron” Miller, age 72, of Clinton, died Friday, November 21, 2008, in Calamus. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 26th, at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, with a celebration of Roland’s life to begin at 7:00 p.m.Roland was born to Avon and Sylvia Robinson Miller on July 22, 1936, in Clinton. He graduated from Clinton High School and served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Roland married Catherine “Kay” Rimmer in 1964 in Clinton. He later married Vicki Merema in 1981. Roland was a laborer with the Clinton Local Union. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting and fishing. Roland is survived by five children, Forrest “Woody” Miller and Tonya Miller, both of Clinton, Vicki Jo Rebelsky of Iowa City, Debbie (Jerry) Rebelsky-Dearth of Kanas City, KS, and Michael “Ski” Rebelsky of Coralville, IA; seven grandchildren, Matthew Lee, Adam James, David Michael, Trisha Kay, Catherine Louise, Kyla Marie and Kennedy Kay; three sisters, LaVonne (Mervin “Bub”) Fletcher and Florence Ramig, both of Clinton, and Maxine of Waterloo; and a brother, Alan Miller of CA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Matthew Miller in 1999; and a brother, Raymond.Death date: Nov. 21, 2008
