CLINTON — Aloysius “Ted” P. Mueller, 98, of Clinton, died Monday, November 17, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center, North Campus, Clinton. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2008, at Prince of Peace Parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Springdale Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Geoffrey Dabberdt, Michael Mueller, Peter Mueller, Matthew Mueller, Edward Gastel, and James Gastel. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ray Vens, Tom Lyons, Bill Killeen, James Timmer, John DeWitt, George Clausen, Bill Lackermann, James Woll and Richard Phelan. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to the service time Friday at the church. The Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Aloysius Phillip Mueller was born on September 26, 1910, in Freeport, Illinois, the son of Louis and Elizabeth (Bohn) Mueller. He married Evelyn Secker, daughter of Theodore and Laura (Steffen) Secker on October 14, 1939, at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Freeport, Illinois. Ted was a 1928 graduate of Aquin High School in Freeport. He was a pharmaceutical salesman for McKesson’s for 32 years, retiring in 1976. Ted was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and was ordained as a Permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church in 1980, serving in local hospitals and nursing homes. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Ted is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn, of Clinton; two daughters, Meredith (Walter) Dabberdt of Boulder, Colorado, and Laura (David) McIntire of Clayton, California; one son, Stephen (Donna) Mueller of Batavia, Illinois; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Charles) Margolis, Geoffrey (Lee) Dabberdt, Michael Mueller, Peter (Jana) Mueller, Matthew Mueller and Laura Mueller; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Gastel of Freeport, Illinois; a brother-in-law, John Secker of Sun City, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters. The family requests that memorials be made to Catholic Charities or a charity of choice.
