The Clinton Herald Saturday March 4, 1950 p. 8 Mrs. Emma Howes, 86, former Clinton and Savanna, Ill., resident died early today at Moline after a lingering illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Law funeral home, Savanna. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery, Clinton. Mrs. Howes was born Aug. 20, 1863 at Grand detour, Ill., and was married to Phillip L. Howes, Chicago and North Western engineer, who died two years ago at Clinton. She resided for 50 years at Clinton and for 12 in Savanna. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Margaret E. Seitz, West Palm Beach, Fal.; two sons, Charles R., Rockford, and Phillip J., Boone, Iowa, and five grandchildren.
