The Clinton Herald Monday July 6, 1970 p. 9 Mrs. Mabel E. Johnson, 81, formerly of 826 14th Ave. S., died Saturday morning in Mt. Alverno Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. M.E. Lesher officiating. Burial will be held in Clinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Snell-Smith funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be Walter Jurgensen, Edwin Rohwer, Clifford Finch, Herbert Johnson, Paul Eastland and Brice Oakley. The former Mabel E. Nelson was born Sept. 13, 1888, in Clinton, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Hagburg Nelsno. She married Charles J. Johnson, June 15, 1910, in Clinton. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Clinton Garden Club, Order of eastern Star No. 65 and the White Shrine. Survivors include three sons, Carroll F. and Warren C. Johnson, both of Clinton, and R.A. (Bick) Johnson of New York, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. John (Dorothy) Mull of Braintree, Mass., Mrs. Vilhelm (Eleanor) von Schwerin of Clinton and Mrs. Raymond (Bernadine) Johnson of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 10 grandchldren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.
