PIONEER RESIDENT IN HIS LAST SLEEP
(Obit published in 1909)

Grand Mound, Oct. 30-- George Wulf of this place passed away yesterday at noon of infirmities incident to old age. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock.

The deceased was born in Fehmarn, Holstein, Germany, Sept. 18, 1824. He came to America in 1869 and located on a farm in Berlin township, moving to Grand Mound about fourteen year ago where he has his home since. He is survived by his widow and seven sons, J. M. Wulf of White Lake, S.D.; J.C. Wulf of Welton; John Wulf who lives in Wisconsin; Henry Wulf, living on the old homestead in Berlin township; Ferdinand Wulf of Sioux City; George Wulf living south of town, and Julius Wulf of Holstein. Four daughters also mourn his death, Mrs. Detlef Hagge of Arcadis; Mrs. Henry Wick of Berlin township, Mrs. Dan Alexander of Calamus and Mrs. Henry Bossen of Clinton.
