Dennis Gannon

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, in Immaculate Conception Church, Petersville, for Dennis J. Gannon, 19, of Rural Route 1, Delmar. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Jackson County Public Hospital following an automobile accident early Saturday, Sept. 29.

The Rev. Bass of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Delmar, officiated and burial was in the church cemetery Haylock O’Hara and Kedley Funeral Home, Maquoketa, was in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 7, 1965 in Maquoketa to Wm. J. and Bernadette F. Sievers Gannon. He graduated with honors from Delwood High School and farmed with his father in the Delmar area.

He is survived by his father, William Gannon of Delmar; his mother, Bernadette Gannon of Manson, Iowa; three sisters, Michelle Gannon of Milwaukee, Wisc., Dorothy Gannon of Texas, Mrs. Daniel (Margaret) Kuhl of Wisconsin Dells, Wisc.; three brothers, Thomas of Saudi Arabia, Michael of Iowa City and Christopher of Delmar; and his paternal grandfather, Michael Gannon of Delmar.

One brother, two grandmothers and one grandfather preceded him in death.
