CLINTON — Lilly L. Finnicum, age 69, of Clinton, died Sunday Sept. 28, 2008, at her home from a courageous three-year battle with lung cancer, surrounded by her loved ones. A private family service was held Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at the Pape Funeral Home. There were no public services at this time according to her wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Lilly was born on Nov. 4, 1938, in Lincoln, NE, the daughter of William and Cleone (Lewis) Holton. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1956. She married Victor Finnicum on Nov. 3, 1957, in Clinton; he died in 1993. She later married George White in 1997 in Clinton; he died in 1999. Lilly was a driver for R.C. Smith Transportation in Morrison, IL, from 1995-2008. She also worked as a waitress/cook at various restaurants in the Clinton area from 1957-1995. She was a member and baptized at the Clinton Church of Christ. She enjoyed sewing and cooking, her grandchildren and the casinos. She was also an avid bowler, where she bowled in various bowling leagues up until 1984. Lilly is survived by her three daughters, Cleone (Harry) Carstensen of Clinton, Vicki Ciena of Portage, IN, and Gayleen Finnicum of Clinton; four sons, Fred (Theresa) Finnicum of Mulberry, FL, Brian (Mary Lou) Finnicum of Camanche, Gary Finnicum of Las Vegas, NV, and Anthony Finnicum of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, Bryce and Candace Finnicum, Jeffery Jr. and Jordan Hake, Tyler Bartels and Justin Boyer, Shelby and Jacob Ciena, and Katelyn Finnicum; a great-granddaughter, Emberlynn Lilly Hake, who was born Sept. 24, 2008; two sisters, Gayleen (Gene) Beavers of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and Karen (Furman) Doty of Clinton; and two brothers, William (Loetta) Holton of Albany, IL, and Gary (Diana) Holton of Bryant, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and William Herrman. Online condolences may be sent to www.papefh.com.Death date: Sept. 28, 2008
