CLINTON — Katherine D. Van Kampen, 90, 318 Main Ave., Clinton, died Thursday at Mercy Medical Center North, Clinton. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel – Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. The Rev. Bruce Wilterdink, interim pastor of First Reformed Church, Fulton, Ill., will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel - Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Garden Plain Cemetery, Garden Plain, Ill. Memorials can be given to First Reformed Church, Fulton, and the American Heart Association.She was born Jan. 1, 1918, in Fulton to Harry H. and Alice (Smith) Poel. She was educated in the Whiteside County Grade Schools and attended Fulton High School, Fulton. She married Timothy Van Kampen on Aug. 8, 1936, in Fulton. He died on July 29, 1991. She was employed by the former Patent Novelty Company, Fulton. She then was employed as a nurses aid at Morrison Community Hospital, Morrison, Ill. She later work for the J.C. Penny Store in Clinton, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was a member of First Reformed Church, Fulton. Survivors include two daughters, Arla Morrow, Wheaton, Ill., and Barbara Postel, Wilton; five sons, Harold (Inge) Van Kampen, Rhinelander, WI, Leon (Donna) Van Kampen, Morrison, Larry (Judy) Van Kampen, Moline, Ill., James A. (Janie) Van Kampen, Morrelton, AR, and Tom Van Kampen, Camanche; and 72 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Steven Van Kampen, and two brothers, Marvin and Robert Poel.Send online condolences to www.bosmarenkes.com.Death date: July 24, 2008
