MORRISON, Ill. — Phernie Tichler, 94, of Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, IL, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at the the nursing home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL. The Rev. Jon W. Nienhuis, pastor of Ebenezer Reformed Church in Morrison, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison, IL. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Reformed Church’s Radio Broadcast Fund. She was born March 5, 1914, in Garden Plain, IL, to Henry K. and Josie (Newendyke) Eizenga. She was educated in rural Whiteside County schools and Northside Grade School in Morrison, IL.She married Paul Tichler on February 9, 1933, in Fulton, IL. He died June 3, 1965. She was employed at Rich’s Toy Factory in Morrison, was employed as custodian for Ebenezer Reformed Church and cleaned over 100 homes in Morrison. She was a member of Ebenezer Reformed Church, Morrison, IL, and the church’s Lydian Society. Survivors include four daughters,Audrey (Mrs. Kenneth) Balk of Fulton, IL, Linda (Mrs. Vernon) Smith of Fulton, IL, Joyce (Mrs. Phil) Wilkins of Morrison, IL, Marcia (Mrs. Ron) Mildren of Clinton, IA; four sons, Warren (Roberta) Tichler of Fulton, IL, Vernon (Sherie) Tichler of Morrison, IL, Marvin (Mary) Tichler of Morrison, IL, Larry (Diane) Tichler of Morrison, IL; forty-one grandchildren; twelve stepgrandchildren; seventy-nine great grandchildren; fourteen stepgreat-grandchildren; twenty-three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Loretta Hook of Morrison, IL.She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Sharon Sterenberg and Paula Maxson; one son, Robert Tichler; one great-grandson, Jacob James Sterenberg; one sister, Agnes Jansma; and one brother, Marvin Eizenga.
