Michael DeSirey 07/22/1998 CLINTON, Iowa -- Michael J. DeSirey, of Clinton, died Friday, July 17, 1998, at his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Schmitz Funeral Home, Clinton, with a Scripture service at 6 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Chalice service at 7 p.m. Mr. DeSirey retired in 1975 as a machinist after 44 years at DuPont. He was born May 8, 1910, in McEwen, Tenn. He married Martha Dermody in 1954 in Clinton. She died in 1979. He married Helen Slapnicka in 1983 in Clinton. She died in 1995. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association. Survivors include daughters, Delores Randall and Teresa Thorpe, both of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Don, Lake Ozarks, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Catherine Hamilton, Providence, R.I.; and brothers, Leo P., Clinton, John, Nashville, Tenn., and Pete, Providence.
