CLINTON — Theodore J. “Ted” Howell, age 78, of Clinton, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at his home. According to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and memorial services will be held 11:00 am Monday, June 30th, at the Pape Funeral Home. A gathering of friends and family will be held Monday 10:00 am until the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Ted was born on April 4, 1930, in Clinton, IA, the son of Ernie and Fannie (Ralston) Howell. He married Geraldine Lampe on Nov. 26, 1950, in Camanche. Ted worked construction for Local Laborers Union 224 for many years, retiring in 1988. He enjoyed collecting antique cars and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Ted is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Clinton; five children, Linda Baughman of Clinton, Richard Lampe of Clinton, Jerry (Debbie) Lampe of Clinton, Ted B. Howell of Sabula, and Mrs. Terry (Charles) Wilden of Clinton; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two daughters, and a sister.
