CLINTON — James R. “Jim” Schrader, age 68, of Clinton, died Friday, June 13, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16th, at St. John Lutheran Church in Clinton. The Rev. Wayne Brinkmann will officiate. Visitation was from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Pape Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be David Schrader, Shawn Kuhse, Edwin and Ronald Jepsen, Jerry Judd, Jim Runge and Wayne Suehl. Additional visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Monday at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. James was born on October 11, 1939, in Lost Nation, Iowa, the son of Carl and Bernadine Bloom Schrader. He graduated from Goose Lake High School in 1959. Jim married Elouise Ferrell in 1967 in Clinton. He later married Kathy Jepsen on June 21, 1980, in Clinton. Jim was a machinist at Waukesha Engines. He had also been employed with Ace Hardware and St. John Lutheran Church. Jim was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bowling, gardening, canning, cooking, baking and bird watching. He followed the Chicago Cubs and the Green Bay Packers. He was die hard Cub Fan Club member. Jim is survived by his wife, Kathy; a son, Dave C. (his wife, LeAnn) Schrader of Clinton; a daughter, Kristina (her husband, Shawn) Kuhse of Clinton; two grandchildren, Johnathan and Natalie; his sisters and brothers, Phyllis Mundy of Ferdinand, IN, Richard (his wife, Shirley) Schrader of Fulton, Ill., a sister-in-law, Helen Schrader of Clinton, William (his wife, Carol) Schrader of Charlotte, IA, Kenneth (his wife, Gloria) Schrader of Camanche, John (his wife, Patsy) Schrader of Clinton, Paul (his wife, Jane) Schrader of Bettendorf, Teresa (her husband, Jim) Salsbury of Davenport and Stephen (his wife, Carla) Schrader of Camanche; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marge; and a brother, Robert. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
