MEIER, Kurt A.
DeWitt - Kurt Allen MEIER, 45, of DeWitt, died Wednesday at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, with the Rev H. Robert HARNESS officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William ROBISH, Richard GIESE, Gill STEPHENSON, Donald WOLFE. Ronald EENGELKE and Lance GLASPIE.
He was born Feb 5, 1953, in Fort Dodge, to Richard and Naomi DEVILBISS LINDER. When he was 12 he was adopted by Edward and Delphine MEIER in Mapleton and was reared in that community. He married Rhonda ANDERSON, Dec 14, 1979, in Fort Dodge.
He had been employed as a district manager for circulation with the Quad City Times.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and coached baseball, soccer and softball with Parks and Recreation.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cassie MEIER of DeWitt; two sons, Joshua MEIER of Sioux City, and Matthew MEIER of DeWitt; his father, Edward MEIER of Mapleton; a brother Scott JOHNSON of Big Springs, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Roxanne (Ronald) ENGELKE of Mapleton, and Mrs. Kim (Jeff) KNIGHT of Tempe, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by a brother, his parents and his adopted mother.
