1925 - 2003

Services for Charles E. Witt, 77, Clinton, will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig-Dennis A. Lemke Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Camanche. Clinton AMVETS Post 28 will conduct military services at the burial.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Witt died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
He was employed at Pillsbury Mills, Clinton, Meade-Langefit, the City of Clinton Street Department, as a truck driver for Dohrn Transportation and was a bartender at Clinton Moose Lodge. He retired in 1985.
He was born Feb. 4, 1925, in Clinton. He married Mary Krebs in 1950 in Clinton.
During World War II, he served in the Navy.
Memorials may be made to Heart Failure Clinic of the University of Iowa or VNA of Clinton.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter, Sue Sirvid, and son, James, both of Clinton; four grandchildren; and brother, Larry, Clinton.
