Seward Burns 08/07/1998 CLINTON, Iowa -- Services for Seward A. Burns, of 1216 4th Ave. North, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Clinton Chapel of Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton, with military services by Albany (Ill.) American Legion. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Burns died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at his home. He retired in 1980 as a carpenter after 34 years at Aluminum Company of America. He was born Nov. 14, 1915, in Erie, Ill. He married Genevieve Burden in 1946 in Fulton, Ill. During World War II, he served with the Navy. He was a carpenters mate first class, 1943 to 1945, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Memorials may be made to Samaritan Home Health Care or Samaritan Hospice. Survivors include his wife; daughters, Roberta Abbott and Christine Rich, both of Clinton; and four grandchildren.
