HANSEN, Clara C.
Clara C. Hansen, 89, formerly of United Manor, died Monday, Aug. 9, at Westwing Place, DeWitt.
Visitation will be Wednesday (today), 2-8 p.m., at Nelson Funeral Home, DeWitt. A scripture service will be read at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, with the Rev. Jack DENNING officiating. Burial will be in St. Iranaeus Cemetery, Clinton.
Pallbearers are Mark, Tim, and Steve TRIMBLE, Douglas HANSEN, William MCDERMOTT and Gerald TURNER. Jeffery HANSEN is honorary pallbearer.
Clara C. HANSEN was born Sept. 29, 1903 in Germany, to Frank and Selma MANIKOWSKI KERSCHNER. She married Edward P. HANSEN in 1925 in Clinton County. He died in 1961. She was employed as a nurse’s aide for 16 years at the former Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton, retiring in 1963. She was a member of the church, and the Altar and Rosary Society, enjoyed bingo, TV and flower gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane TRIMBLE of DeWitt; three sons, Edward J. of Maquoketa, Gene of Bryon, Minn., and David of Clinton; 18 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta CRAMM of Florida; and a brother, Edward KERSCHNER of Clinton. (Hand written date: 1993)
