GLINKA, Julius
Julius J. GLINKA, 91, of Andover, died Saturday at Bluff Terrace in Clinton.
The funeral will be 19 A.m. Tuesday in Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory, Clinton, with the Rev. Karl WOLF officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.. Interment will be in Andover Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry PRETZ, Allan and Dennis NAEVE, Arnold ANDERSON, Gilbert BOTT and Merle JOHNSON.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray STEWART, George HENNING and Simon CASSADAY Jr.
He was born Feb 24, 1907, in East Germany, to Friederick and Marie WYSK GLINKA.
He came to the United States in 1930, and was employed as a blacksmith. He then farmed in Miles until 1950 and Andover until the late 1960’s. He also was employed as a ring man with the Elizabeth Sale Barn, Elizabeth, Ill. for more than 20 years.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Andover and a lifelong member of the Andover Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors include a brother, Otto GLINKA of Germany and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
Death date: Aug 22, 1998.
