GIELOW, LeRoy
LeRoy Theodore GIELOW, 82, of 1323 Anthony Place, Camanche, died Saturday in Samaritan Hospital North.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Church, Clinton, with Rev. Brian “Pete” HAGGLUND officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Clinton, Lawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews: Michael SCHEMBER, Paul SCHEMBER Jr., David and LeRoy OLSON, Jay MUELLER and Mark PETERSEN.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews: Thomas DOUGLAS, Randall and James OLSON, Shawn PETERSEN, Greg MUELLER and David KROON.
He was born Feb. 21, 1916, in rural Clinton County, to Max and Ella STOLK GIELOW. He married Genevieve OLSON, Nov 20, 1940, in Clinton.
He owned and operated Modern Cleaners in Toledo, Iowa, from 1945 to 1959, and later was employed with the Clinton Garment Factory from 1959 until his retirement in 1981.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; a sister, Helen ROHR of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and aunt and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
