The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Delmar, for Margaret DEHAVEN, 77, of Delmar.
She died Monday at Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
The Rev. Ed BOTKIN will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Haylock-O’Hara & Lahey Funeral Home, Maquoketa, where a 7 p.m. Scripture service will be conducted. Burial with military honors, will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pat, Dan, David, Sean and Larry HANRAHAN and Michael SCHMITZ.
She was born Dec. 6, 1920, in Delmar, to Linus and Nell KELLY HANRAHAN. She married Glenn DEHAVEN, Nov 11, 1948, in Clinton. He died Jan 21, 1983.
She was a 1939 graduate of Delmar High School.
She attended nursing training at Mercy Hospital, Davenport, graduating in 1944.
She was a veteran of World War II, serving the United States Navy Nurses Corps, as a registered nurse.
She was also employed as a nurse with Mercy Hospital, Davenport, in the emergency room, the operating room and a s an evening supervisor. She also was employed with Dr. Ralph LAGONI, MD, in Eldridge for many years.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and of the American Legion, DeWitt.
Survivors include a son, Dean DEHAVEN of Delmar; two granddaughters: two great-granddaughters; a sister, Evelyn BENEDICT of Clinton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and a niece.
Death date: Sept 7, 1998.
