The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne’ Catholic Church, Welton for Daniel A. DAVIS, 74, of DeWitt.
He died Wednesday in his home.
The Rev. Ed BOTKIN will celebrate the funeral Mass. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday in Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt, where a 7 p.m. wake service will be conducted. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bob STEINGERWALDT, Kent BENNIS, Dean ADRIAN, Brian HUGHES, Danny KILBURG and Mel FUGLSANG.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dean and Ergon PENNINGROTH, Wayne ADRIAN, Darrell PAULSEN, Harold MYATT and Don, Paul and Bob HUGHES.
He was born Aug 16, 1923, in Delhi, to Joseph E. and Lillian DAVIS. He married LaVonne TEERLINCK, Feb 10, 1968, in East Moline, Ill.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps.
He farmed in the Delmar area until retiring in DeWitt.
He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Lisa (Chris) COOK of West Des Moines, and Mrs. Darcie (Anthony) GAGE of Joplin, Mo,; a granddaughter; five sisters, Hazel WRIGHT and Bethel TOMS, both of Manchester, Mrs. Neva (Bob) MEEHAN of Sidney, Mont. Mrs. Mildred (George) MILLER of Toddville, and Mrs. Ruth (Ray) FRAZER of Bellevue, Colo.; and a brother, Glenn DAVIS of DeWitt.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
Death date; June 3, 1998.
