Theodore "Ted" CLARK, 79, of Wheatland, died Wednesday at Jackson County Hospital, Maquoketa. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Chapman Funeral Home, Wheatland, with the Rev. William KANNE, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wheatland.
He was born Nov. 25, 1918, in Iron Hill, to Alva and Dorcas SKOWL CLARK. He married Dolores ENGLE, June 30, 1943, in Kahoka, Mo. He was a 1938 graduate of Maquoketa High School. He was employed in factory work with Harvestor, and various farming jobs. In 1948 he opened Ted's Body Shop in Maquoketa. He moved his business to Lowden in April of 1962, and retired in 1978, when he moved to Wheatland.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra JOHNSON of Jefferson, S.D., and Marcella KREUSCH of Wheatland; a son, Gary of Wheatland; ten grand-children; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers, Everett CLARK of CA; Gene CLARK of IL; Bud CLARK of OR, Floyd CLARK of Delmar, and Sterling CLARK of Davenport; three sisters, Carilyn CHASE of Baldwin, Gloria LINGLE of Preston, and Esther BURLESON of MO.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a grandchild. Death date: 20 May 1998.
