Winston C. CORLIS, 81 of Clinton, died Friday at Samaritan Hospital North.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, Miles, with Rev. William LeMosy Officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home, Preston. Burial will be in Miles Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lorraine GRAY, George KRUSE, Kenneth GRAY, Wilbur KOCH and Joe CARTER.
He was born April 2, 1917, in Sterling, Iowa, to Ray and Florine WILSON CORLIS. He married Gladys GIDDINGS in 1938. She died in 1943. He later married Roberta RAYHORN, June 30, 1946
He was a graduate of Miles High School.
He farmed in rural Bryant until 1986 when moving to Clinton. He also worked with Miles Telephone Co. as director, and a 13-year Pioneer Seed Corn salesman.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he was a former elder and deacon. He also was a member of the Bellevue Masonic Lodge, the Clinton Consistory and the Kaaba Shrine,
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Barb CLAUSSEN of Clinton; two sons, Norman A. CORLIS of Albuquerque, N.M., and Lauren CORLIS of Miles, three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Charles BURKE of Clinton
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Death date: May 29, 1998.
