CLINTON — Agnes Joyce Kent, 81, of Clinton. formerly of Tipton, died April 18, 2008, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, after a long battle with cancer.Services were held Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Tipton, with Pastor Paul Frederiksen officiating. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery at a later date.She was born March 13, 1927, in Hamilton Ontario, Canada, to Donald Allen and Ellen Margaret (Willis) McQuarrie. She married Robert William Kent. She was a registered nurse.She was a member of United Methodist Church, Meals on Wheels and a Camp Fire Leader.Survivors include her daughters, Ellen Elijah and husband, Larry, of Clarence; Kimberly Eaker and husband, Terry of Clinton; a sister, Kaye Try of London, Ont., Canada; brothers Harold McQuarrie of Souix Santa Marie, Ont., Canada, and Jack McQuarrie of Gore Bay, Ont., Canada; grandchildren Elijah, Caleb, Caitlin, Shauna, Terry, Jr., Koby; great-grandchildren Isaiah, Savannah, Caeden, Wrigley; sisters-in-law Joanne McQuarrie of Ont., Canada, and Alannah McQuarrie of Brantford, Ont., Canada.She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Ellen McQuarrie; her husband, Robert Kent; and two brothers, Ronald and Ian.Online condolence may be sent to www.fryfuneralhome.com.Death date: April 18, 2008
