PENNSYLVANIA— Elizabeth Ann (Schaum) Dunn, 75, passed away on March 4, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Pennsylvania after a valiant battle against lung cancer. She was the daughter of the late Ethel and Henry Schaum. She is survived by her husband, David James Dunn, children, Maureen Morin, Mindy McNeal, Patrick Dunn, Matt Dunn, and DJ Dunn; grandchildren, Nick Morin, Tyler McNeal, Jon Morin, Alex Morin and Sam Morin; great-granddaughter, Isla Bree Morin; sister, Rosemary Smillie; and many nieces and nephews.Elizabeth, also known as Betty Ann and Liz, was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois. She graduated from Rock Island High School. She met and married David Dunn when both were students at Western Illinois University. They were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Rock Island. They resided in Macomb, Illinois, while the children were at home and then moved to Industry, Illinois, for 10 years. They retired to Mesa, Arizona, in 2003.Elizabeth was dedicated to her family and friends. She served at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Macomb, Illinois, as a parish council president, RCIA sponsor and on numerous committees at church and school. She enjoyed staying busy and creative over the years as a sales person, bank clerk, dog groomer, billing clerk, sign painter and was a master at knitting, crocheting and wood carving. The role of wife and mother was that which she cherished the most.Memorial services are being planned for April at Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Liz’s name can be made to the St. Paul’s Catholic Church Building Fund, 309 W. Jackson Street, Macomb, Illinois 61455 or to a charity of your choice.Death date: March 4, 2008
