The Clinton Herald Monday November 10, 1980 p. 13 Francis D. McDevitt, 80, Maquoketa, died Sunday in Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa. The funeral will be 8 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Maquoketa, with the Rev. Robert Pallen officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is today in Haylock, O'Hara and Kedley Funeral Home, Maquoketa, with a vigil service at 8 p.m. He was born Dec. 27, 1899, in DeWitt, to James and Mary Hogarty McDevitt. He was a World War II veteran, retired banker and former employee of Rock Island Arsenal. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Gladys Mangan of DeWitt. He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.
