The Clinton Herald Monday January 8, 1990 p. 12 Herbert C. Greve, 67, of 2019 Pershing Blvd., died Saturday at United Medical Center, Moline, Ill. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pape Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stanley Peterson, Zion Lutheran Church, officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Clinton Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darrell Steiner, Robert McGill, Robert Holm, Robert Jackson, Jack Leslie and Kent Schaley. Mr. Greve was born Sept. 8, 1922, in Welton, to Arthur J. and Martha Boyert Greve. He married Ellen McDonald, Dec. 21, 1945, in Clinton. He was a trainman for the Chicago North Western Railroad, retiring in 1986, after 31 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Greve was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge No. 705, Loyal Order of Moose No. 363, American Legion Post No. 402 of Fulton, and ABC Bowlers Association. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Lou Ellen) Stoddard and Mrs. Jon (Bonnie) Ledgerwood, both of Clinton; two sons, Floyd and Jack, both of Clinton; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Ernest Greve of Portsmouth, N.H., and Arthur J. Greve of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents.
