The Clinton Herald Tuesday December 31, 1935 p. 5 Word was received today by Mrs. R.C. Stewart, 1330 North Third street, of the death of her father, Hans J. Greve, 89, Monday night in the Royal Oak hospital, Royal Oak, Mich., after a month's illness. The body will arrive in Clinton tomorrow and will repose in the Wayne L. Shadduck funeral home where services will be held Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. Further funeral plans will be announced later. Hans Greve was born Nov. 16, 1846 in Germany. After coming to this country he worked 25 years in the Claus Peterseon store in Clinton. For the last year he has been living with his daughter, Mrs. Burl Hudley in Royal Oak. He is survived by one son, John Greve, of Mason City; three daughters, Mrs. James DeLange and Mrs. R.C. Stewart of this city, and Mrs. Frank Kimball of Chicago; three step-children, Mrs. Theodore Gifford of Clinton, Mrs. Burl Hudley of Royal Oak, and Milo Lorenzen of Pocatello, Idaho; and five grandchildren, Mrs. Phyllis Briarly of Waverly, Miss Gracia DeLange, Clinton, Richard, Jack and Betty Kimball, Chicago. Mr. Greve was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Marie Petersen Greve and a wife by a later marriage, Mrs. Dorothy Lorenzen Greve, who died two years ago, and one son, William Greve.
