The Clinton Herald Saturday August 22, 1959 p. 5 Mrs. James McGregor Leslie, 85, of 622 Melrose Ct., died this morning in her home. She had been in failing health the past several months. The body is in the Bragonier-Fay funeral home where friends may call beginning Sunday evening. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Ralph Johnson of the First Baptist church will officiate with burial in Springdale cemetery. Mary Grace Kirkham was born Aug. 8, 1874, in Patterson, N.Y., the daughter of Rev. O.C. and Sara Agan Kirkham. She came to Clinton in 1891 when her father became pastor of the First Baptist church. She attended Clinton schools, was a graduate of Clinton high school and a life long member of the First Baptist church, the Barbara Fridell circle and the Women's Missionary society of the church. She was married Oct. 18, 1899 in Clinton to James McGregor Leslie. She was a member of the Jane Lamb hospital board in the early years of its founding, the D.A.R., the Onawa Literary club, past president of the Benevolent board and a charter member of the Franklin P.T.A. Survivors include 2 daughters, Mrs. W.H. (Margaret) Foster, and Mrs. Louis F. (Catherine) Iten, both of Clinton, 4 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 5 great-granddaughters and 1 great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in February 1954, 2 brothers, a sister and a grandson, Lt. Charles Foster.
