The Clinton Herald Tuesday November 13, 1962 p. 10 Miss Florence E. Curtis, 79, a world traveler and president of the Edith C. Armstrong-Florence E. Curtis Foundation, died Monday evening in Jane Lamb hospital where she had been a patient for two days. She had made her home at 444 1/2 5th Ave. S. Miss Curtis was born April 16, 1883 in Clinton, the daughter of Charles F. and Nancy Hosford Curtis. She was educated in Clinton public schools and at Ogonz school in Troy, N.Y. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Clinton Country Club. Survivors include one sister, Mrs. C.B. (Lucy Curtis) Towle of Broken Bow, Neb.; three nieces, Mrs. Jacqueline N. Armstrong of Clinton, Mrs. J.K. (Mary Towle) Cozier of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Mrs. T.T. (Priscilla Towle) Varney Jr. of Broken Bow and one nephew, C. Curtis Towle of Los Angeles, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Bragonier-Fay chapel with Dr. Richard Dempsey of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the family mausoleum in Springdale cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
