CLINTON — Viola M. “Jeep” Schaley, 88, of Clinton, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Wyndcrest Nursing Home in Clinton. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jeff Wiley, Kent Lee, Kevin Berry, Mark Howard and Bill Wright; and nephew, Tab Kraft. Honorary pallbearers will be Vicki Long and Renea Lee. Burial will be in the Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Viola was born on October 31, 1919, in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of George E. and Pearl (Scott) Morris. She was a Clinton High School graduate. She married Kent E. Schaley April 10, 1937, in Clinton. She was a homemaker. Viola was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Royal Neighbors of America and the Eagles Club. Survivors include her husband, Kent; daughters, Patricia Lee and Phyllis Howard, both of Clinton; her son, Kenneth “Mike” (Kathleen “Lynn”) Schaley of Clinton; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Alvin Morris.Memorials may be made to Clinton Fire Department Local 609. Online condolences may be left by visiting www.snellzornig.com.
