FULTON, lll. — E. LeRoy Rus, 87, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, died Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Pastor Wayne Wiersema, Gateway Faith Fellowship, Fulton, IL, will be officiating. Visitation will be 12 noon until time of funeral service Wednesday, February 13, 2008, at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fulton Township Cemetery, Fulton, IL. Memorials may be made to Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, IL, and Genesis Hospice. He was born September 18, 1920, in Fulton, IL, to Ren and Nellie (Klimstra) Rus. He was educated in Mt. Hope Grade School, of rural Whiteside County. He married Anna A. Dykstra on May 9, 1941, in Thomson, IL. She died March 28, 2007. He was engaged in farming in the rural Garden Plain area until moving to Fulton in 1948. He then co-owned and operated Rus and Wilkens Feed Company. Later he founded and operated the former Service Oil Company of Fulton, IL. Most recently founded and operated along with his brother, Clarence Rus, Rus Brothers LP Gas, Fulton, IL, until retiring in 2006. LeRoy was fully dedicated to the operation of Rus Brothers LP Gas and service to its customers. He was a member of First Reformed Church ,Fulton, IL. He was a former member of Second Reformed Church, Fulton, IL, where he served as a deacon. Survivors include two daughters, Betty (Dave) Meinema of Fulton, IL, and Barbara (Jody) Bielema of Fulton, IL; two sons, Donald (Marcia) Rus of Fulton, IL, and Darrell (Sue) Rus of Fulton, IL; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Rus, Albany, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; one son, Arnold J. Rus; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Rus; one stepgrandson, Terry Eye; one sister, Catherine Tegeler; and one brother, Ray W. Rus.Death date: Feb. 9, 2008
