WATERLOO — Virginia G. Petersen, 89, of Waterloo and formerly of Clinton, Iowa, died Friday, January 18, 2008, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab in Waterloo, Iowa. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded, the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory. She was born November 19, 1918, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Beatrice (Holloway) Geiger. She was a 1936 graduate of Clinton High School and received her AA degree from Mt. St. Clare. She married Kenneth L. Petersen July 3, 1941, in Clinton; he died May 30, 1977. Survivors include her sons, James C. (Jane) Petersen of Dubuque, Iowa, and Jeffrey R. (Sheryl) Petersen of Waterloo; and 2 grandsons. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles. Death date: Jan. 18, 2008
